Houbara Bustard in the World
Taxonomy
The houbara bustard is an Otidiforme that belongs to the Otididae family. Two species of houbara bustard are currently recognized:
– the Asian houbara, Chlamydotis macqueenii, from Sinai to China,
– the North African houbara, Chlamydotis undulata, from north Mauritania to Egypt with a subspecies, Chlamydotis undulata fuertaventurae, endemic of the Canary Islands.
